Resumo: This paper is a brief presentation of the many studies that is tangent to, somehow, the issue of the pretérito perfecto compuesto in Spanish. Thus, we attempt to enable a conflict of different conclusions about the behavior of the verbal form, to set the complexity that involves the phenomenon and to start promoting the thought that these variations in use correspond to strategies and communicative needs of the speakers and their worldview.
