Resumo: The Federal Constitution of 1988 guarantees work as a fundamental right, to protect the human person of the worker in the unequal capital-labor relationship, to protect workers from potential risks in the working environment and to promote quality of life for workers with recognition of the social value of work. Even with this entire system of worker protections, the persistence of reports of the practice of work analogous to slavery in Brazil, demands not only reflection on the subject, but also the search for methods that allow ample confrontation of this practice of human alienation. Because of this need, the advancement of technologies can become an ally for labor protection, such as the use of blockchain technology as an effective mechanism capable of establishing preventive measures in the fight against slave labor, as well as helping to monitor compliance with human rights by employers. This paper intends to investigate how blockchain technology can be a viable alternative to fight against slavery in production chains. The study is exploratory and descriptive, analyzing the different dimensions of the research object and describing the current scenario of the use of blockchain technology.
