Contestado war: the sacred and profane of a secular war

Resumo: The Contestado War occurred in the early twentieth century and was one of the greatest conflicts in the history of Brazil, but is a fact concealed by the Brazilian State and the state of Paraná, is an open wound in both, and when it comes to the subject, is with prejudice, treating the Caboclos people as ignorant and religious fanatics. Outside the region involved in the battle, little importance is given to the subject. This paper does not aim to point out villains and heroes, but rather to provide a reflection about the theme, reflections that go beyound a historical aspects, seeking analysis through scared and profane elements that are involved in the War. Conflict, which for more than a hundred years has been spreading in a region marked by a strong social inequality.

Fora da região envolvida com o combate pouco se dá importância ao tema, esse artigo não busca apontar os vilões e heróis, mas sim proporcionar uma reflexão sobre o tema, reflexões que partem mais do que um aspecto histórico, buscando análises através de elementos do sagrado e do profano que envolve-se com a Guerra.
