Study of the Perceptions presented by Residents of the José Joaquim Stream, Sapucaia do Sul (RS): globalizing, naturalistic or anthropocentric environmental perception

Resumo: The perception that individuals have about the environment in which they are inserted has an influence on the reception and appreciation of improvements proposed by the public authorities. Thus, environmental perception research can be an important tool for the success of environmental projects. The aim of this study is to understand the perceptions presented by residents of the surrounding stream José Joaquim, Sapucaia do Sul (RS), about the water that is located in the urban environment and characterize them according to three conceptions of the environment: naturalistic, anthropocentric and globalizing, providing subsidies for the environmental management of the municipality. Furthermore, it was obtained indicative of the perceptions presented by officials of the City Hall involved in the management of water resources. A total of 19 residents and 10 employees were investigated through semi-structured questionnaires, in a quali-quantitative approach. Most residents presented an anthropocentric conception of the environment, while part of them and the employees expressed a hygienist vision in the treatment of water resources, which indicates the need to develop public policies for environmental education and encourage social participation in the management of these resources, to provide a globalizing view of the stream and revalue water in the urban environment.

Por lo tanto, la investigación de la percepción ambiental puede ser una herramienta importante para el éxito de los proyectos ambientales. El objetivo de este estudio es comprender las percepciones presentadas por los residentes del arroyo José Joaquim circundante, Sapucaia do Sul (RS), sobre el agua que se encuentra en el entorno urbano, y caracterizarlas de acuerdo con tres concepciones del medio ambiente: naturalista, antropocéntrica y globalizadora, otorgando subsidios para la gestión ambiental del municipio. Además, obtuvimos indicaciones de las percepciones presentadas por los funcionarios de la ciudad involucrados en la gestión de los recursos hídricos. Un total de 19 residentes y 10 empleados fueron investigados a través de cuestionarios semiestructurados, en un enfoque cuali-cuantitativo. La mayoría de los residentes presentaron una concepción antropocéntrica del medio ambiente, mientras que parte de ellos y los empleados expresaron una visión higienista en el tratamiento de los recursos hídricos, lo que indica la necesidad de desarrollar políticas públicas de educación ambiental y fomentar la participación social en la gestión de estos recursos, como una forma de proporcionar una visión globalizadora del arroyo y revalorizar el agua en el entorno urbano.A percepção que os indivíduos têm sobre o ambiente em que estão inseridos tem influência na recepção e na valorização de melhorias propostas pelo poder público. Assim, a investigação de percepção ambiental pode ser uma importante ferramenta para o sucesso de projetos ambientais. O objetivo deste estudo é compreender as percepções apresentadas por moradores do entorno do córrego José Joaquim, Sapucaia do Sul (RS), sobre a água que é encontrada no meio urbano, e caracterizá-las conforme três concepções de meio ambiente: naturalista, antropocêntrica e globalizante, fornecendo subsídios para a gestão ambiental do município. Ainda, obteve-se indicativos das percepções apresentadas por funcionários da Prefeitura Municipal envolvidos na gestão dos recursos hídricos. Foram investigados um total de 19 moradores e 10 funcionários através de questionários semiestruturados, em uma abordagem quali-quantitativa.
