Resumo: From the perspective of the "forms of humus", the litter is an indicator of the integrity of forest ecosystems: the organic material arranged in internal layers, varying in weight and thickness, expresses the cycle of nutrients that synthesizes the functioning of ecosystems. Thus, this research seeks to study which nutrients are released by the action of rain, leaching the organic material present in the treetop and in the soil, as well as that in the inner layers of the litter in an urban forest of tropical climate. For this purpose, experimental rain gauges were built to collect the rain and deposit it in containers below each layer of litter for chemical analysis. As a result, we realized that, when this process happens with humus mull-moder forms, the different layers will nourish the soil in a different way, for example, calcium is released in greater quantity by layers F and MFB; potassium and magnesium are more available through the L layer, indicating that during this process these nutrients are consumed more than released. And finally, sodium is abundant in the rains before it reaches the litter.

And finally, sodium is abundant in the rains before it reaches the litter.
