Interstate Road Transport of Passengers and Intermediate Cities: circulation and interactions in Chapecó, Santa Catarina

Resumo: | Contemporary society reproduces itself through continuous movements and relationships between different areas. This condition is expressed above all by the cities, nodes of the urban network, the product of labor relations, of consumption and the movement of the population itself. Given this, in the Brazilian case, the transportation of people by bus is of fundamental importance in the territorial circulation. Considering Chapecó, an intermediate city in the state of Santa Catarina, this paper seeks, from the operations of interstate road transport of passengers to understand what are the regional interactions present in the analyzed city and, jointly, to understand how this means of transport configures itself. The theoretical and conceptual foundation was based on the socio-spatial formation of the Chapecó Region, on the notion of urban network, in addition to current understandings about the transport of passengers by road. The discussion presented helps us to understand this mode of transport as one of several manifestations of regional socio-spatial formation, as well as contributing to the integrated analysis between the urban network and passenger transport. |

Esta condición está expresada sobre todo por las ciudades, puntos nodales de la red urbana, producto de las relaciones de trabajo, consumo y el movimiento de la población. De hecho, en el caso brasileño, el transporte de personas en autobuses es de fundamental relevancia en la circulación territorial. Atentándose a la ciudad intermedia de Chapecó, el presente trabajo busca, desde el análisis de las operaciones del transporte por carretera interestatal de pasajeros, entender cuáles son las interacciones en escala regional en la ciudad analizada y, conjuntamente, entender como ese modal de transporte se configura. Hay entonces, la yuxtaposición teórico-conceptual de la formación socioespacial de la Región Geográfica Intermedia de Chapecó, la noción de red urbana, también las comprensiones actuales acerca del transporte de pasajeros por carreteras. La discusión presentada nos ayuda a entender este modo de transporte como una de las expresiones de la formación socioespacial regional, además de contribuir al análisis integrado entre la red urbana y el transporte de pasajeros.A sociedade contemporânea se reproduz através de contínuas inter-relações e movimentos, entre diferentes áreas. Essa condição é expressa principalmente pelas cidades, nós da rede urbana, produto das relações de trabalho, consumo e do próprio movimento da população. Diante disso, no caso brasileiro, o transporte de pessoas através dos ônibus mostra-se de fundamental importância na circulação territorial. Com atenção à cidade média de Chapecó, este trabalho busca, à luz das operações do transporte rodoviário interestadual de passageiros, compreender quais são as interações regionais presentes na cidade analisada e, conjuntamente, entender como esse modal de transporte se configura. Há então, a justaposição teórico-conceitual da formação socioespacial da Região Geográfica Intermediária de Chapecó, a noção de rede urbana, além das compreensões atuais acerca do transporte de passageiros por via rodoviária.
