Ethical aspects of research scientific data reuse: a systematized literature review

Objective: It aims to identify the ethical aspects involved in the reuse of scientific research data. Methodology: a systematic literature review was carried out using the Systematic Search Flow method. The data were collected from Scopus, Web of Science, Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts, Information Science & Technology Abstracts, Emerald Insight, SciELO, Base de Dados Referenciais de Artigos de Periódicos em Ciência da Informação and Google Scholar. Mendeley Bibliographic Manager supported the data management and the software Excel was used to analyze the data through a knowledge matrix. Results: the results show that the reuse of research data embrace ethical aspects due to the reliability, anonymity of participants, privacy, data protection, authorship recognition, prediction of data reuse in the research’s ethical documents and restriction of recontextualization of data in qualitative research. Conclusions: the ethics in scientific research has a long way of adapting to open research practices. There is the need to consider research ethical aspects by informing the participants on the topic, so they can make aware decisions about their data and to promote the data reuse. It seeks to encourage the consideration on ethical aspects in the context of open science related to the reuse of research data. It contributes to the critical thinking about the subject by the scientists and to encourage the research data reuse.
