Sociometric analysis of Working Group 4 of ENANCIB – Information and Knowledge Management: a study of the relations between authors, co-authors and teaching institutions

Objective: This work deals with a sociometric analysis of the working group 4 (GT4) of the National Meeting of Research in Information Science (ENANCIB). This approach is justified by the fact that ENANCIB is the main research and postgraduate event in the country that aims to discuss and reflect on scientific production in the area of ​​Information Science. As of 2007, the year of the VIII ENANCIB, WG4 has as its central theme “Information and Knowledge Management in Organizations”. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the scientific research from the ENANCIBs that took place between the years 2003 to 2018 on topics involving GT4. Methodology: For this purpose, a quantitative approach was chosen, based on a survey of 428 studies and 973 authors. For the analyses, the social network analysis method (ARS) and the UCINET software were used. Results: The results of the analyzes showed an increase in the number of publications between 2003 and 2018 on the topics of Information Management (GI) and Knowledge Management (GC) and there was also a congruence between the most productive universities and researchers in GT4. Conclusions: An increase in the number of publications between the years 2003 and 2018 on the topics of knowledge management and information management in ENANCIB can be seen. As a future study, we suggest the analysis of the other GTs under the methodological aspect of this research.
