Resumo: | The aim of the present study is to understand the health professional’s perception about the phenomenon of nonadherence the antidepressant medication when they are themselves patients. The participants were health professionals of a tertiary hospital in the city of São Paulo who were treated in the Ocupational Medicine Service and demonstrated nonadherence to antidepressant medication. A Qualitative clinical method was used and the collection of data was conducted through semi directed interviews. The results indicate that the participants perceived the medication as causing side effect, they expressed fear to a potential dependence to the psychoactive medication and were also afraid of being control over their mind. It s concluded that previous beliefs about their emotional problems and the use of antidepressant medication influenced the nonadherence the treatment, despite of their experience as health professionals. |

Los participantes fueron profesionales del área de salud de un hospital de referencia en la ciudad de São Paulo que estaban siendo atendidos en el Sector de Medicina del Trabajo y que tenían indicación médica de tratamiento con antidepresivos. Se utilizó el método clínico cualitativo, siendo la colecta de datos realizada por medio de entrevistas semidirigidas. Los resultados obtenidos indicaron que los pacientes perciben la medicación como desencadenante de efectos colaterales, relatan miedo de la dependencia de la medicación e incluso miedo de la pérdida del propio dominio psíquico en caso de que sigan la prescripción, a pesar de ser profesionales de salud. Se concluye que las creencias previas de los pacientes, tanto sobre su problemática emocional como sobre la utilización del antidepresivo, influyen en la no adhesión a la medicación, a pesar de que son profesionales de salud.Busca-se, no presente estudo, compreender qual a percepção do profissional de saúde sobre o fenômeno da não adesão à medicação, quando está no lugar de paciente. Os participantes foram profissionais da área da saúde de um hospital de referência na cidade de São Paulo que estavam sendo atendidos no Setor de Medicina do Trabalho, e que tinham indicação médica de tratamento com antidepressivos. Utilizou-se o método clínico-qualitativo, sendo a coleta de dados realizada por meio de entrevistas semidirigidas. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que os pacientes percebem a medicação como desencadeadora de efeitos colaterais, relatam medo da dependência à medicação, e, ainda medo da perda do próprio domínio psíquico caso sigam a prescrição, apesar de serem profissionais da saúde.
