Resumo: From the perspective of unconscious theories, the psychosomatic manifestations are clinical phenomena studied since a long time and usually interpreted as resulting from a weakness of psychic defense mechanisms such as repression facing the sexuality, Freud's great discovery. This kind of association between the psychosomatic manifestations and the that weakness of psychic defense mechanisms, which is well testified by clinic, assumes certain limits in relation to the classical psychoanalytic technique. It seems to give samples of something past of psychic elaboration, sometimes seeming be necessary to conceive, in relation to psychosomatic manifestations, something other unconcius than the repressed one. Mainly lecturing on this issue - of the unconscious in the psychosomatic patient - our study undertook a theoretical approach in which psychosomatics illness is taken as a result of a radical form of defense, preceding the repression related to the primitive and traumatic order. Due to contact with psychosomatic patients in the clinic and with the research line of the Master's degree which, for some years, has been studying about the Jean Laplanche's Generalized Theory of Seduction (GTS), this work was contituted to promove a discussion around the psychosomatic and some of the explanatory theories, from Freud to the GTS. Freud contributions and other two theoretical concepts developed later in France and widely accepted in the scientific community begins this theoretical trajectory, illustrating the studies on the psychosomatic until the moment that GTS is proposed. Since then, the paper discusses a theoretical model proposed by Dejours and based in the GTS which reserves a place in the psychic topic to the psychosomatic which is different place of the repressed. Even based on the GTS, the model is not fully supported by Laplanche, its creator. Therefore, around the perceived differences and similarities between the theoretical concepts, the work finishes discussing some dilemmas and proposing a solution for them, trying to relate the psychosomatic to the representations that, ultimately, are the ones that give conditions for the drives connection, adding it meaning. The notion of unconscious sexuality permeates all the work, but especially in this final part brings important theoretical elements that helps to understand the psychosomatic manifestations as witnesses of a failed psychic constitution, requiring in the clinic other ways of dealing with them than those already known to deal with the return of the repressed one.
