Resumo: The history of knowledge is intertwined with the history of humanity itself, as it is in humans, or rather it is in the journey of becoming human that knowledge is constructed in relation to the other. There is disassociated from the human knowledge, but is about different ways of knowing that science took its first steps in freeing himself and men and women as historical beings, social and cultural rights. Just as the man was becoming more reasonable to you, with others and with nature has established relations mediated by different cultural instruments. These artifacts manifest themselves through technological advancement, social and cultural development that builds up in different ways of living and coexisting in contemporary societies. And the school, especially primary school education is defined as a privileged access to cultural knowledge that has been accumulated from generation to generation, becoming an essential understanding of the historical steps of science when discussing the rationale that guides the teaching as social and cultural heritage, the central theme of this text.
