Resumo: | Ethical education in Aristotle is analyzed and the formation of the virtuous character as a key factor in the achievement of happiness is emphasized. The happy life is based on virtue which, in turn, is based on education and not on any other forms of life. The formation on the activity of the soul is not enough to achieve a happy life. Rational virtue differentiates the good man from the others. It manifests itself in good acts expressed through balanced attitudes and contemplation. Ethical education is the basic criterion for character formation. The constant practice of virtuous deeds makes the human being achieve discernment to do what is appropriate and thus achieve virtue and happiness. |

O artigo examina o tema da educação ética em Aristóteles e enfatiza que a formação do caráter virtuoso é o critério fundamental para a concretização da felicidade. A vida feliz está relacionada à virtude, e esta à educação e não a outras formas de vida. Para a concretização da vida feliz não basta uma formação fundada na atividade da alma. O que diferencia o homem bom dos demais é a virtude racional, que se manifesta no bem agir expresso pelo meio termo e pela contemplação. A educação ética é o critério essencial para a formação do caráter, e mediante a prática constante de ações virtuosas o homem terá discernimento para fazer o que for conveniente, logo, será virtuoso e feliz.
