Resumo: | In this article we worry at examine some theoretical-ideological and socioeconomic aspects of public policies and education in Brazil, particularly in the context of recent history. These aspects directly involve the state propositions for social policies. The educational policy, therefore, is understood here as a constituent of social policy. The public policies, directly defined and directed by the State, are understood as the result of theoretical-ideological and socioeconomic mediations and are directly intertwined with the process of social production of wealth and, consequently, its distribution and division. The educational policy, particularly undertaken in Brazil since the 1990s, is the articulation and the consummation of economic forces and hegemonic policies that support the propositions which show strong mainstream of liberal or socio-liberal nature and it defines significantly the development of public policies and national education. |

Neste artigo nos preocupamos em examinar alguns aspectos teórico-ideológicos e socioeconômicos das políticas públicas e educação no Brasil, particularmente no contexto da história recente. Esses aspectos envolvem diretamente as proposições estatais para as políticas sociais. A política educacional, portanto, é entendida aqui como constituinte da política social. As políticas públicas diretamente definidas e dirigidas pelo Estado são compreendidas como o resultado de mediações teórico-ideológicas e socioeconômicas e estão diretamente imbricadas no processo de produção social da riqueza e, consequentemente, de sua repartição e distribuição. A política educacional, particularmente a empreendida no Brasil a partir da década de 1990, é a articulação e a consumação de forças econômicas e políticas hegemônicas que sustentam proposições que revelam forte tendência predominante de cunho liberal ou social-liberal e definem significativamente os rumos das políticas públicas e da educação nacional.
