Resumo: In this study, we explore the emerging issues of the Information Society, specifically gender debates in biology video lessons on YouTube. We used an analysis script based on a multidisciplinary theoretical framework to identify and describe the various gender markers present in these online classes. We analyzed two video lessons presented by cisgender people, in which we observed the application of old gender marking systems still prevalent in Brazilian society. The transition of education to the digital space did not bring significant changes regarding patriarchal gender hierarchies, evidenced in the choice of examples, theoretical foundation and use of images and videos. Therefore, it is important to encourage the participation of female personalities and other gender identities in this prominent educational market, since male predominance and their worldviews are evident in Biology classes in general.

Utilizamos un marco teórico multidisciplinar para identificar y describir los diversos marcadores de género presentes en estas clases en línea. Analizamos dos videoclases presentadas por personas cisgénero, en las que observamos la aplicación de antiguos sistemas de marcación de género aún vigentes en la sociedad brasileña. La transición de la educación al espacio digital no trajo cambios significativos en relación a las jerarquías patriarcales de género, evidenciados en la elección de ejemplos, fundamentación teórica y uso de imágenes y videos. Por lo tanto, es importante fomentar la participación de personalidades femeninas y de otras identidades de género en este destacado mercado educativo, ya que el predominio masculino y sus cosmovisiones son evidentes en las clases de Biología en general.Neste estudo, exploramos as questões emergentes da Sociedade da Informação, especificamente os debates de gênero em videoaulas de Biologia no YouTube. Utilizamos um roteiro de análise baseado em referencial teórico multidisciplinar para identificar e descrever os diversos marcadores de gênero presentes nessas aulas online. Analisamos duas videoaulas apresentadas por pessoas cisgêneras, nas quais observamos a aplicação de antigos sistemas de marcação de gênero ainda prevalecentes na sociedade brasileira. A transição da educação para o espaço digital não trouxe mudanças significativas quanto às hierarquias de gênero patriarcais, evidenciadas na escolha de exemplos, fundamentação teórica e uso de imagens e vídeos.
