Resumo: | Knowing that Environmental Education (EE) in schools should foster educational actions to promote the feeling of preserving the environment and sustainable development, this work aims to understand the teaching perspective on environmental education in schools in Maciço de Baturité/Ceará. For this, a descriptive research, with a mixed approach, was carried out with 114 teachers from eight state and / or municipal public schools in Maciço de Baturité/CE, using an online questionnaire, whose quantitative data were tabulated in tables and graphs and analyzed through the basic descriptive statistics. The qualitative data were transcribed and their content analysis was carried out. The results pointed out the importance of interdisciplinary and contextualized teaching of AE as an instrument for learning social and environmental knowledge. However, despite the efforts of schools to promote these activities, teachers point out the lack of financial resources or space for the development of the practice and the deficiency in training as points of difficulty in carrying out environmental education actions. In any case, the actions of EE promote the approach of concepts that awaken in the individual a critical and responsible conscience towards the environment. |

Para isso, foi realizado uma pesquisa descritiva, de abordagem mista, com 114 docentes de oito escolas públicas estadual e/ou municipal do Maciço de Baturité/CE, utilizando um questionário online, cujos dados quantitativos foram tabulados em tabelas e gráficos e analisados através da estatística descritiva básica. Já os dados qualitativos foram transcritos e realizados sua análise de conteúdo. Os resultados apontaram a importância do ensino interdisciplinar e contextualizado de EA como um instrumento de aprendizagem de conhecimento socioambiental. Contudo, apesar dos esforços das escolas para promover essas atividades, os docentes apontam a falta de recursos financeiros ou espaço para o desenvolvimento da prática e a deficiência na formação como pontos de dificuldade na realização das ações de educação ambiental.
