Resumo: Descartes and Drummond, in their proposals of observations and elaboration of the world, are apparently so different and, at the same time, they can be approached by the aesthetic work, the images construction that vivifies concepts linked to the comprehension of reality. The use of reasoning and subjective search can be closer than it is supposed by the common sense. It was used a comparative approach between aesthetic work in cartesian book Meditations (2000) and drummondian poems selected from the convergence of figures and themes. It was done a route of literary criticism based on the four reasons presented by Descartes. It has been observed that the same instrument, the verbal language, doesn't guarantee similarities between the authors, but the images selection, the symbolic building and its developments. While Drummond verifies the grandiosity and disability of the poetic labor, Descartes uses, by aesthetic resources, the building of esthesis on the concept creation that he tries to deny by himself. While one author gives himself away to the language symbolical abyss, the other one tries to overcome it and, by this apparent opposition, these authors get together by the symbolical convergence.

While one author gives himself away to the language symbolical abyss, the other one tries to overcome it and, by this apparent opposition, these authors get together by the symbolical convergence.
