Resumo: | The main goal of this text is to characterize Brazilian Humanities students’ uses and roles of language in educational practices before entering in Higher Education in relation to academic literacy practices. The data are collected by means of interviews to students as well as observation of the literacy practices of a curricular discipline. The reason of this type of ethnographic research is better understood by the explanations about “difficulties” and doubts that students demonstrate in reading and writing in academic literacy practices. The theoretical framing referring to the dialogical language perspective and to sociocultural approaches of literacy support data analysis. The selected data from a wider research about literacies in Higher Education indicate that there was an intensive work with metalinguistic, not reflecting the use of the language; characterizing more linear type of reading and not using social language for the proposed texts´ production. These data characterize (des)continuities within students’ roles during this graduation course classes. Nevertheless, there are evidences of others/new ways of re-mediation into academic literacy practices. Consequently, it is shown singular literacies among teachers in preparation studies |

Consequently, it is shown singular literacies among teachers in preparation studiesO objetivo deste artigo é caracterizar os usos da língua por alunos brasileiros de Letras em práticas escolares anteriores ao ingresso no Ensino Superior, na relação com práticas de letramento acadêmico. Os dados foram recolhidos através de depoimentos dos alunos em aulas universitárias e em entrevistas orais semi-diretivas. A justificativa da pesquisa em foco, de caráter etnográfico, é a necessidade de melhor compreender razões que expliquem inseguranças e “dificuldades” desses alunos em práticas de leitura e produção textual na esfera acadêmica. O quadro teórico referente à perspectiva dialógica da linguagem, bem como a abordagens socioculturais de letramento suportam as análises dos dados. Constatações pontuais comprovam que, nos anos anteriores ao ingresso em Letras, havia um trabalho intenso com a metalinguagem e não com a reflexão sobre o uso da língua; uma leitura parafrástica era a mais característica; os textos propostos para produção escrita não encontravam lugar no social. Esses dados por consequência caracterizam (des)continuidades nas posições assumidas por alunos durante aulas desse curso. No entando, evidenciam-se outras/novas formas de re-mediacação das práticas de letramento acadêmico.
