Resumo: | The developmentalism ideology proposes state intervention in the economy and society aiming to achieve the combination between sustainable economic growth and improvement of social indicators. The objective of this article is to discuss the complex historical process through which the Brazilian developmentalism ideology has historically emerged as a qualitatively new phenomenon. To this end, we highlight the precursor schools of thought of Brazilian developmentalism — in Europe, the Enlightenment and the idea of Progress, and in Brazil, the schools of nationalists, defenders of industry, paperism and positivism — and the intertwined way in which these different schools came into contact with each other until finally come together in the twentieth century, forming a Brazilian developmentalism ideology. |

Universidade Estadual De Maringá2020-07-08info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttp://www.periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/ActaSciHumanSocSci/article/view/5140210.4025/actascihumansoc.v42i1.51402Acta Scientiarum.
