Resumo: Crops depend on natural resources concentrated in the geographic space, which reinforces the idea that production occurs in clusters throughout the economic space. Given the importance of the soybean crop, especially for the State of Rio Grande do Sul, as well as the importance of studies that address the location pattern of agricultural production, the objective of the present study is to analyze the spatial distribution of the soybean productivity in the municipalities of the state of Rio Grande do Sul in the period between 1995 and 2013. Thus, the Exploratory Analysis of Spatial Data was used as a methodological basis. The main results show that, between 1990 and 2013, the highest average yields were located in the North region of the state, except for the year of 2005, when that was observed in the South region. The cluster maps confirm that result and, along with Moran’s I statistics, point to the existence of positive spatial autocorrelation among Rio Grande do Sul’s municipalities.

Universidade Estadual De Maringá2018-09-19info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttp://www.periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/ActaSciHumanSocSci/article/view/3365210.4025/actascihumansoc.v40i2.33652Acta Scientiarum.
