Resumo: The paper aims to analyze the Brazilian essayism through the category of modern chronotope and reflect upon the theoretical junction between imaginative cartography and figuration as interpretative axes of essayism and Brazilian social thought as an example of peripheral intellectual experience, highlighting the multiple paths and interpretations of Modernity.
