The chronicles of colonization: a literary production on the italian immigration in the region of the quarta colonia (1975)

Resumo: The region of the Quarta Colônia celebrated, since 1975, the Italian Immigration Centennial celebrations in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. For these festivities, each locality has prepared activities such as church services, parades, dinners, and lunches. Furthermore, in order to disclose the immigration process, Priest Luiz Sponchiado - parish priest of the municipality of Nova Palma - produced the chronicles of colonization to report the daily lives of Italian immigrants in that colonial region. This paper seeks to understand the speech spread about the Italian immigration in the festivities of one hundred years of Italian immigration in the Quarta Colônia, through the chronicles of colonization. The content of that material will be analyzed to understand the discourse about the immigration process in the region of the Quarta Colônia.

Para essas festividades, cada localidade preparou de sua forma, atividades como missas, desfiles, jantares, almoços. Além disso, como forma de divulgar o processo imigratório, padre Luiz Sponchiado – pároco do município de Nova Palma – produziu as crônicas da colonização, com o intuito de relatar o cotidiano dos imigrantes italianos na referida região colonial. O presente trabalho procura compreender o discurso propagado sobre a imigração italiana nas festividades dos 100 anos da imigração italiana na Quarta Colônia, através das crônicas da colonização.
