Resumo: Nitrogen fixation by efficient native rhizobia strains may contribute to increase grain yield and to promote economy of nitrogen fertilizers in Brazilian semi-arid region. A greenhouse experiment was carried out in order to evaluate the nitrogen fixation efficiency of four peanut genotypes inoculated with rhizobia isolated from northeastern Brazil. The IAC Tatu cultivar established the most efficient symbiosis, while BR1 depended of N fertilizers application and showed high levels of total N in shoots only with S11 isolate. The majority of the rhizobia isolates established efficient symbiosis and N accumulation with IAC Tatu, Sertão and Embrapa 142-L7 genotypes, when compared to N mineral treatment. The results showed that native rhizobia can promote good nodulation, total N and dry matter yield, and may be used as specific inoculant for peanut in soils of Brazilian semi-arid region.

Foi conduzido um experimento em casa de vegetação para avaliar a fixação do N2 em 4 cultivares de amendoim inoculadas com isolados de rizóbios nativos da região Nordeste do Brasil. A cultivar (IAC) Tatu estabeleceu a associação mais eficiente, enquanto a BR1 foi dependente do N mineral aplicado e só apresentou níveis elevados de N total acumulado com o isolado S11. A maioria dos isolados foi eficaz para o acúmulo de matéria seca da parte aérea pelas cultivares IAC Tatu, Sertão e Embrapa 142-L7, em comparação com o tratamento com fertilização mineral. Os rizóbios nativos proporcionaram boa nodulação, com aumento no N total acumulado e no rendimento de matéria seca da parte aérea.
