Resumo: The development of the predator Hippodamia convergens Guérin-Menéville fed with the aphid Schizaphis graminum (Rondani) reared in different sorghum genotypes was studied at temperature of 25±1°C, UR 70±10% and photophase of 12 hours. The length of development, the survival of larvae to adult and the larvae weight were evaluated. The sexual rate, the pre-oviposition period, and the number of eggs per female were also evaluated fifteen days after beginning oviposition. The GR 11111, TX 430 x GR 111 and GB 3B resistant genotypes reduced the H. convergens larval weight, though there was no influence of the resistant genotypes in larvae and larvae-adult development, in predator survival, and in pre-oviposition period and fecundity. The interaction between the methods of control, using the natural enemie H. convergens and resistant sorghum genotypes, was positive.

Avaliaram-se a duração das fases de desenvolvimento, a sobrevivência durante o período de desenvolvimento de larva a adulto e o peso das larvas, assim como a razão sexual, o período de pré-oviposição e o número de ovos por fêmea, quinze dias após o início da oviposição. Os genótipos resistentes GR 11111, TX 430 x GR 111 e GB 3B reduziram o peso das larvas de H. convergens, porém não afetaram o período de desenvolvimento larval, de larva a adulto, a sobrevivência, o período de pré-oviposição, a oviposição e a fecundidade do predador.
