Resumo: The incorporation of fungicides in culture means has presented positive results in the multiplication of plants cultivated in vitro and in vivo. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the fungicide chlorothalonil on the vegetative and root in vitro development of the Brazilian orchids Cattleya loddigestii and Laelia lundii. Cattleya loddigesii and Laelia lundii seedlings were inoculated in an MS mean and supplemented with different doses of chlorothalonil fungicide: 0,0; 0,1; 0,2; 0,4; 0,6g L-1. The following variables were evaluated 180 days after the beginning of the experiment: number of shoots, longest root length, aerial part height and fresh weight. Thirty days after seedling, germination/sticking proportion was evaluated. Fungicide dose with the strongest influence on the in vitro fertilization of both species were those within the 0,1 to 0,2g L-1 intervals. As for seedling germination during the acclimatization phase, the dosages with the strongest effect were 0,2g L-1 for the C. loddigesii and 0,1g L-1 for the L.lundii
