Resumo: Soybean seeds have shown serious quality problems, due to high levels of greening seeds in lots produced in Mato Grosso do Sul State. With the aim of investigating the problem, an experiment was conducted in which an evaluation was performed regarding germination potential, root length, oil content and oleic acid acidity percentage, of soybean seed from genotypes BRS 133, BRS 181, BRS 239, BRS 206, Embrapa 48, BRS 240, BRS 241 and CD 202 grown under six environments in the state (Dourados – CPAO, Dourados – Barreirão, Ponta Porã, Maracaju, Sidrolândia and Naviraí). The field experimental design was randomized blocks with three replications, in each site. The genotypes from Ponta Porã and Barreirão, whose seed lots contained lower green seeds percentages, showed the highest germination levels and root length as well. The oil content and acidity were not significantly influenced by green seed levels. It was concluded that, as the level of green seeds increases, a great decrease on germination potential and primary root length was observed.

Objetivando averiguar o problema, foi conduzido um experimento em que foram avaliados potencial de germinação, comprimento de raiz, teor de óleo e porcentagem de acidez do ácido oleico das sementes de soja das cultivares BRS 133, BRS 181, BRS 206, BRS 239, BRS 240, BRS 241, CD 202 e Embrapa 48, produzidas em seis locais do Estado (Dourados – Barreirão, Dourados – CPAO, Maracaju, Naviraí, Ponta Porã e Sidrolândia). O delineamento experimental de campo foi em blocos ao acaso com três repetições, em cada local. Os genótipos de Ponta Porã e Barreirão, cujos lotes continham menores percentuais de sementes verdes, apresentaram os mais elevados níveis de germinação e comprimento de raiz. O teor e a acidez do óleo não foram significativamente influenciados pela quantidade de sementes verdes.
