Resumo: The present research objectived evaluates the influence of different mannering systems of soil in recuperation of its properties. The work was realized on a “Latossolo Vermelho” (Oxisol). The research beggined in 1997/1998 and evaluation was realized in 2002. The experimental design, in the scheme in zone with split split-plot design. The bands were made up by five covers (Mucuna aterrima, Pennisetum americanum, Crotalaria juncea, Cajanus cajan and uncultived - fallow) and two systems of tillage (no-tillage and conventional tillage), and the last one subdivided with corn (Zea mays L.), soybean (Glycine Max (L.) Merrill) and cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crops. Was evaluated: macroporosity, microporosity, total porosity, bulk density and penetration resistance, in the following depht: 0.00-0.10; 0.10-0.20 e 0.20-0.40m. According to results, the cover plants do not influence physical properties of soil; no-tillage is affecting to best physical properties of soil in the surface layer; Glycine max used in culture successions proper best physical conditions in soil surface; the corn in the succession was the most promiser for recuperation of physical properties in soil depht
