Resumo: The objective of the present work was to evaluate the reduction of spacing between lines and the use of top-dressing with nitrogen in different doses, using urea. The study evaluated the yield, production components and other agronomic characteristics in the culture of corn. The experiment was conducted at the Experimental Station of the Consolata Agricultural Cooperative (Coopacol) in the city of Cafelândia, Paraná State, Brazil, in area of Rhodic Haplorthox, carried out under no-tillage. The experimental design used was that of randomized blocks, in a split-plot scheme, with four replications. The spacing between lines (0.45; 0.75 and 0.90 m) was tested in the parcels and the doses of top-dressing nitrogen (0; 30; 60 and 90 kg ha-1) were tested in sub parcels, totaling twelve treatments. For sowing, the simple hybrid Pioneer 30F33 was used. For the 0.45 m spacing, there was a decrease in plant height and spike insertion height; however, this spacing may present superior yield, increasing the production up to the level of 52kg ha-1 of N.
