Resumo: The modern agriculture use methods that propitiate fast diagnosis the state nutricional of plants is need. The objective this study was to estimate the levels of chlorophyll in common bean plants cultivated in “Cerrado” soil submitted to manganese and zinc supplementation. Three experiments were carried out, being two greenhouse and one in the field. The experiments of greenhouse were installed following the randomized complete blocks design, in factorial squeme, with three replications, involving five Mn rates (0, 75, 150, 300 and 600g ha-1) and five Zn rates (0, 50, 100, 200 and 400g ha-1) applied in the leaves, at 25 days or alternatively parceled at 25 and 35 DAE, respectively, in first and second experiment. The field experiment was carried out in blocks randomized, with four replication, with the same treatments used greenhouse. In all the experiments, before the application of treatments and five days after, was determined the pigment reading and later the chlorophyll levels. In evaluations accomplished to 25 and 35 days after emergency SPAD it was shown to be effective to estimate chlorophyll levels in leaves the common bean. The Mn deficiency was identify by SPAD 502. The chlorophyll levels were not influenced by addition the zinc.
