Resumo: The main goal of the present study was to identify the ideal number of repetitions for two different intensities for lower limbs power training. Moreover, it was investigated if the rest interval affected power production between sets. Sixteen volunteers were evaluated in three sets of either four or twelve repetitions of half-squat exercise, with loads corresponding to 40% or 60%1RM. Além disso, investigou-se a influência da duração do intervalo de recuperação entre as séries de estímulos de treinamento sobre a potência produzida. Para isso testou-se um grupo de 16 sujeitos em três momentos, realizando três séries de quatro ou doze repetições no exercício de meio-agachamento, com as cargas de 40% ou 60% de 1RM. Para testar o efeito dos intervalos de recuperação, dois intervalos distintos foram estabelecidos: entre a primeira e a segunda séries e entre a segunda e a terceira séries.
