Resumo: | This paper aims to analyze the intellectual work of Hollanda Loyola, the most productive publisher of the magazine Educação Physica, in which he attended as technical director. The results showed: a) a strong defense of a united doctrine to Brazilian physical education; b) a discussion about gymnastic and sport pedagogic role in School physical education; c) the allocation of these two key-lectures in relation to some well known thesis in the research field of physical education history in Brazil. |

Opera um recorte em seus escritos de modo a destacar: a) o esmero na defesa de uma unidade de doutrina para a educação física brasileira; b) a discussão sobre o lugar da ginástica e do esporte nos programas de educação física escolar e sua pedagogia.
