Resumo: This study aimed to review the bioenergetics factors that contribute to lactate and blood glucose concentration changes and its importance for LAn determination. A bibliographic survey was performed in the internet the terms anaerobic threshold, lactate threshold, glucose threshold and its correspondents in Portuguese as key-words. Recently, various methodologies, such as individual anaerobic threshold (IAT) and minimum lactate, try to predict the maximal steady lactate state (MSLS). In the search for reliable physiological parameters some researchers have dedicated their time in blood glucose investigation as means to determine LAn, this methodology is known as glucose threshold (LGli). The use and determination of LAn faces several problems related to the vast number of terminologies, definitions and references used by researchers. Discussions about this methodologies and reasons to LAn occurrence are distant to an end, with new researches being necessary to consolidate which methodology really reflects the MSSL with smaller cost of time, financial resources as well as its theoretical assumptions.

Department of Physical Education - State University of Maringá (UEM), Maringá-PR, Brazil2009-10-05info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionRevisãoapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/4743Journal of Physical Education; Vol 20 No 3 (2009); 453-464Journal of Physical Education; Vol. 20 Núm. 3 (2009); 453-464Journal of Physical Education; v. 20 n. 3 (2009); 453-4642448-2455reponame:Journal of Physical Education (Maringá)instname:Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)instacron:UEMporhttps://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/article/view/4743/4879Azevedo, Paulo Henrique Silva MarquesGarcia, AlexDuarte, João Marcos PereiraRissato, Gustavo MelloCarrara, Vitor Karlos PiubelliMarson, Runer Augustoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-01-10T15:37:35Zoai:periodicos.uem.br/ojs:article/4743Revistahttp://periodicos.uem.br/ojs/index.php/RevEducFis/indexPUBhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.php||revdef@uem.br2448-24552448-2455opendoar:2023-01-10T15:37:35Journal of Physical Education (Maringá) - Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM)false
