Resumo: this work intends to show how  the slave’s escape in the end of XVIII century raised discussions between the Iberian Crowns authorities in the river of the Plate. The respectives metropolis has slaves in his colonies, and we can see that the Crowns of Portugal and Spain signed deals and it’s important to consolidate different practices of devolution, especially after the Treat of Santo Ildefonso and the devolution of Colonia do Sacramento to the Spanish. In this case, our objective is demonstrate that the escapes are possible in one border porous and undefined that, at the same time, trying to establish the devolution were tested, but not always successful.

Sendo as respectivas metrópoles escravistas em suas colônias americanas, podemos ver que a assinatura de tratados entre as Coroas de Espanha e Portugal foi importante para consolidar práticas de devolução distintas, sobretudo após o Tratado de Santo Ildefonso e a devolução definitiva da Colônia do Sacramento aos espanhóis.
