Resumo: The Argentine writer Ariana Harwicz has interestingly stood out in the Latin American literary scene, mainly with the translation and publication recently in Brazil by the publisher Instante. In “The Passion Trilogy”, the works Die, my love, Feebleminded and Tender question maternal roles, laying open, as stated by the authoress herself, “the balefulness and the beauty of the bond between mother and child”, as seen in a brief review on the Amazon website, which adds: “in Harwicz’s cruel and poetical fictional world, love is unbalanced, driven by desire and violence”. In that sense, this paper analyzes the theme of motherhood in the work Die, my love, the first narrative of Harwicz’s trilogy, and ponders what the roles of motherhood represent and “lay open” about the maternal bond in contemporaneity, as another, dissident, voice, in the literature written by women.
