Scientific Divulgation and Cochlear Implant: a discursive analysis

Resumo: The discourse on the cochlear implant has produced fruitful discussions both in academia and in society in general. When these discussions are (re)produced in/by the media, especially the television media, through the Scientific Disclosure Discourse (SDC), such a discussion gains national proportions. In this way, we seek, under the bias of materialist discourse analysis, to understand the effects of meaning produced by the (re)production of a scientific discourse on the cochlear implant on/by Rede Globo television through its morning programs aimed, in general, at to the woman, who is delegated, based on the collective imagination, the responsibility for the care and education of the children, especially when they have a disability. Our discursive corpus is composed of eight programs from the aforementioned station. From the analysis of our material, we found that the discourses of scientific divulgation about the cochlear implant are uttered from a place that produces meanings that validate it as the only possibility of inclusion of the deaf person.

Quando essas discussões são (re)produzidas na/pela mídia, especialmente a mídia televisiva, por meio do Discurso de Divulgação Cientifica (DDC), tal discussão ganha proporções nacionais. Dessa forma, procuramos, sob o viés da análise de discurso materialista, compreender os efeitos de sentido produzidos pela (re)produção de um discurso científico sobre o implante coclear na/pela Rede Globo de televisão por meio de seus programas matinais destinados, em geral, à mulher, a quem é delegada, com base no imaginário coletivo, a responsabilidade pelo cuidado e educação dos filhos, sobretudo quando esses têm alguma deficiência. Nosso corpus discursivo é composto por oito programas da referida emissora.
