Resumo: | Brazil can be considered a country that has a significant performance in the international scenario. It goes beyond bilateral relations, also acting in key decision-making bodies, such as the United Nations (UN). In this sense, Brazil has been present in various UN Peacekeeping Missions over the years, highlighting its role in the United Nations Stabilisation Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). However, with the end of MINUSTAH and the arrival of a new government in Brazil, there are many doubts about the Brazilian attitude towards UN and its peacekeeping missions. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to observe the trajectory of Brazil in these missions and, from this, to reflect on the positions of the current government regarding the continuity of Brazilian participation in this context. This is a bibliographic research, which uses works by several authors dealing with Brazilian foreign policy and UN peacekeeping missions, as well as news and analysis that help delineate the attitudes of this country regarding these missions and the UN itself. |
