Resumo: From the case study of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti, this article discusses the effectiveness of the United Nations in addressing the gender issue in Peace Operations and it considers the efforts of Brazilian military and civilians to comply with this agenda, especially by the presence of military women. To this end, it analyzes the related Security Council Resolutions, as well bibliographic review, official documents of the Organization and interviews.
