Resumo: How to use computational tools, such as software, in qualitative research? The search for answering this question takes place amidst the notion, sometimes mistaken, that qualitative research does not demand greater methodological refinement. Therefore, based on this question, the research seeks to assist in the methodological advance of qualitative research designs for the field of study of International Relations. Hence, its general aim is to present a research tool based on Automated Content Analysis (AAC) techniques, in spite of developing the following specific objectives: (i) explain what Content Analysis is; (ii) identify the characteristics relevant to the AAC; and (iii) introduce the IRAMUTEQ software together with qualitative research in the field of International Relations. The work has a didactic-pedagogical characteristic because it introduces software for the production of qualitative research. In the end, it hopes to contribute to the introduction of a tool that can help the methodological refinement within the world of qualitative research in International Relations.

A busca por responder essa pergunta se dá em meio a noção, por vezes equivocada, de que pesquisas qualitativas não reivindicam um maior refinamento metodológico. Sendo assim, a partir dessa pergunta, a pesquisa busca auxiliar no avanço metodológico de desenhos de pesquisas qualitativos para o campo de estudo de Relações Internacionais. Destarte, tem como objetivo geral apresentar uma ferramenta de pesquisa pautada em técnicas de Análise Automatizada de Conteúdo (AAC), em que pese desenvolver os seguintes objetivos específicos: (i) explicar o que é a Análise de Conteúdo; (ii) identificar as características pertinentes à AAC; e (iii) introduzir o software IRAMUTEQ junto à pesquisa qualitativa do campo de Relações Internacionais. O trabalho possui uma característica didático-pedagógica porque introduz um software para a produção de pesquisa qualitativa.
