Summary: | Burnout or SB syndrome is a modern disease associated with the work, in which there is a set of physical and psychological symptoms with possible impact on work performance and quality of life of affected individuals. Aims: To describe the prevalence and risk factors associated with burnout in professional attention to health of children and Campina Grande -PB teen, Brazil. Methods: Cross-sectional study based on census covering a total of 87 professionals, developed in 2012, considering the health professionals recorded exclusively for the attention to this target population, in the above municipality. As a tool for data collection were adopted the interview and the questionnaire; this with sociodemographic variables and associated to the three dimensions SB, through the Maslach Burnout Inventory or adapted MBI: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal / profissional.Na statistical analysis was considered an error margin of 5% .The study design was approved under the CAAE 0370.0.133.000-11. Results: The final sample consisted of 63 individuals, with a pilot study in 11 other professionals. 90.5% of the participants were female, mean age 41 ± 12.33 years. The variables, marital status and family income was positively associated with depersonalization. Only 3.2% of subjects reported installed SB scores with 46.0% in the initial phase for this disease. The presented predominantly low level of emotional exhaustion (57.1%) and moderate level of depersonalization (71.4%), with all characterized by high job satisfaction. There was no positive association between factors related to work and the scores that characterize the presence of this syndrome. Conclusion: Although the prevalence of psycho-physical characteristics associated with burnout syndrome has been considerable (49.2%) for the evaluated group, there was no positive relationship between the variables related to free time and work, except for the sociodemographic variables family income and marital status. |

Objetivos: Descrever a prevalência e os fatores de risco associados à síndrome de Burnout em profissionais da atenção a saúde da criança e do adolescente de Campina Grande –PB, Brasil. Métodos: Estudo transversal de base censitária abrangendo o total de 87 profissionais, desenvolvido no ano de 2012, considerando-se os profissionais da área de saúde registrados exclusivamente para a atenção a essa população-alvo, no município supracitado. Como instrumento para a coleta de dados ficaram adotados a entrevista e o questionário; este com variáveis sociodemográficas e associadas às três dimensões SB, através do Maslach Burnout Inventory ou MBI adaptado: exaustão emocional, despersonalização e realização pessoal/profissional.Na análise estatística considerou-se uma margem de erro de 5%.O projeto deste estudo foi aprovado sob o CAAE 0370.0.133.000-11. Resultados: A amostra final abrangeu 63 indivíduos, com um estudo piloto em 11 outros profissionais. 90,5% dos participantes eram do sexo feminino, com idade média de 41±12,33 anos. As variáveis, estado civil e renda familiar associaram-se positivamente à despersonalização. Apenas 3,2% dos profissionais apresentaram escores de SB instalada com 46,0% na fase inicial para essa doença. O apresentaram predominantemente baixo nível de exaustão emocional (57,1%) e moderado nível de despersonalização (71,4%), com a totalidade caracterizada por realização profissional alta. Não foi encontrada associação positiva entre as variáveis relativas ao trabalho e os escores que caracterizam a presença dessa síndrome.
