This study presents a spatial analysis of the municipality of Equador-RN, highlighting its spatial relations with Paraíba due to its location on the border between the aforementioned state and Rio Grande do Norte. Therefore, the main objective is to understand how its regional integration has impacted its socio-economic development, taking into account the regional dynamics among the 25 municipalities participating in the research. Thus, this investigation covers the micro-regions neighboring the municipality of Equador-RN, presenting a historical and spatial analysis spanning from 1991 to 2016, based on data from the Atlas Brasil. The methodological approach employs spatial statistical analysis to assimilate the dynamics of the micro-regions in question, exploring different flows and identifying patterns of influence in spatial distribution. Therefore, the research seeks to deepen the understanding of how the municipality of Equador-RN behaves in regional integration, recognizing its spatial implications in the micro-regions of Seridó Oriental (RN) and Seridó Oriental and Ocidental (PB), highlighting its received and emanated influences in this process. The research results, from the perspective of spatial correlational analysis statistics, revealed that the municipality of Equador and its role in regional integration is dependent, as it demonstrates a passive connection in this process. Furthermore, through a comparative analysis over the years, persistent deficits in socio-economic variables in the municipality of Equador were identified, revealing the need for specific actions by the public authorities to overcome these challenges and promote its development. The comparative observation of the microregions under study also highlighted that Seridó Oriental do RN, the micro-region in which Equador-RN is located, has significant potential to positively influence the development of its neighboring municipalities, although the municipality of Equador is receiving greater negative influence from the Paraíba micro-region with which it shares a border, resulting in less favorable economic and social indicators. Given this context, it is recommended that Equador-RN strengthen its relations with its belonging micro-region, Seridó Oriental do RN, considering it a more significant supportive space for its development.
