Resumo: Introduction: Given the low levels of physical activity among adolescents and the high prevalence of obesity, there is an urgent need to identify innovative options for physical activity. The objective was to analyze the impact of physical exercise, through the active video game, on the lipid profile of overweight adolescent schoolchildren. Objective: Evaluate the impact of physical activity, performed through an active video game, with the aid of gamification, on the lipid profile of overweight or obese adolescents. Methods: Randomized clinical trial, developed in two public elementary schools in the city of Campina Grande - PB, from March to August 2018. The participants in the experimental group performed physical activity with the aid of an active video game, held three times a week, over a period of eight weeks, while the control group did not perform this intervention. They were issued to survey sociodemographic and lifestyle data; laboratory tests (total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, non-HDL-cholesterol and triglycerides). The collected data were entered twice and then validated by the Epi Info 6.04 Validate subprogram. To carry out the statistical analysis process, the program used was the statistical software R version 3.5.3 and its graphical interface Rstudio version 1.1.463. The study was developed in accordance with Resolution 466/2012 of the National Health Council and was approved by the Research Ethics Committee, CAAE: 84019518.3.0000.5187. Results: The study showed that dance, with the aid of the active video game, during 12 weeks, had a reduction in the values of weight, BMI, total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and NHDL of the intervention group, comparing before and after the practice of physical activity. And when comparing the two groups, after the intervention, there was a change that was expressly stateless without total cholesterol, without HDL and without LDL of adolescents with obesity / overweight. Conclusions: Thus, the results obtained that the active video game can achieve a fundamental challenge, which is the participation of adolescents in physical activity, causing a fun and enjoyable activity that will be sustained over time.

Submitted by Jean Medeiros (jeanletras@uepb.edu.br) on 2022-11-01T14:14:43Z No. of bitstreams: 1 DS - Amanda Maria Guimarães Barros.pdf: 1744962 bytes, checksum: d3824c767f6ea9c509ec1d95e1451cf6 (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Jean Medeiros (jeanletras@uepb.edu.br) on 2022-11-01T14:28:04Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 DS - Amanda Maria Guimarães Barros.pdf: 1744962 bytes, checksum: d3824c767f6ea9c509ec1d95e1451cf6 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2022-11-01T21:00:13Z (GMT).
