Ethics and research in education: the ethical-epistemological (in)visibility of children in the informed consent

Resumo: Of qualitative character, this text has as its essential objective to analyze, in the scope of research in education with children, the ethical-epistemological invisibility or visibility that is given to them. It is intended to know what ethical and epistemological modus operandi that adults, as researchers, demonstrate in relation to children, with regard to four specific dimensions that are intersected: 1) informed consent; 2) confidentiality, anonymity and privacy; 3) power relations between adults and children; 4) authorship of knowledge production. Given each of these aspects, it is sought to know if the researcher understands and assumes his/her fundamental task in this process of deep critical questioning and ethical-epistemological reflexivity that are imposed, being aware that there is no à la carte ethics ready to apply in any circumstance. Children.De carácter cualitativo, este texto tiene como objetivo esencial analizar, en el ámbito de la investigación en educación con niños, la invisibilidad o la visibilidad ético-epistemológica que se les da. Se pretende conocer cuál es el modus operandi ético y epistemológico que los adultos, como investigadores, demuestran en relación a los niños, con respecto a cuatro dimensiones específicas que se cruzan: 1) consentimiento informado; 2) confidencialidad, anonimato y privacidad; 3) relaciones de poder entre adultos y niños; 4) autoría de la producción de conocimiento. Ante cada uno de estos aspectos, se pretende saber si el investigador comprende y asume su tarea fundamental en este proceso de profundo cuestionamiento crítico y de reflexividad ético-epistemológica que se impone, teniendo consciencia de que no existe una ética a la carta lista para aplicar en cualquier circunstancia. Pretende-se saber qual o modus operandi ético e epistemológico que os adultos, enquanto investigadores, demonstram relativamente às crianças, no que diz respeito a quatro dimensões específicas que se cruzam: 1) consentimento informado; 2) confidencialidade, anonimato e privacidade; 3) relações de poder entre adulto e crianças; 4) autoria da produção do conhecimento. Perante cada um destes aspetos, pretende-se saber se o investigador compreende e assume a sua tarefa fundamental neste processo de profundo questionamento crítico e de reflexividade ético-epistemológica que se impõe, tendo consciência de que não existe uma ética à la carte pronta a aplicar em qualquer circunstância.
