Educação ambiental com pescadores artesanais: um convite à participação

Resumo: This paper aims at bringing up constitutive elements of a transformative environmental education, using the appreciation of critical theory and dialectic historical materialism. Therefore, studies with artesanal fisherman communities in the region around the estuary of Patos Lagoon were accomplished. The methodology was based on observation and participatory research through the analysis of didactics and pedagogical aspects which are inserted in the actions that aim at sharing responsibilities within the regulation and the use of fishing resources in the region. Thus, the study points at structuring aspects of a public politics concerned with environmental education, claiming the necessity of both the participation of involved people and a deep reflection of the environmental-socio-economic-historical conditions within artesanal fishermen’s social and cultural relations. Public policies.Este trabalho busca apontar elementos constitutivos de uma educação ambiental transformadora à luz da teoria crítica e do materialismo histórico dialético. Para tanto, foram desenvolvidos estudos com grupos de pescadores artesanais do entorno do estuário da Lagoa dos Patos (RS). A metodologia utilizada teve como base a observação e a pesquisa participante, através da análise de aspectos didáticos e pedagógicos que se inserem nas ações que objetivam compartilhar responsabilidades no regramento e uso dos recursos pesqueiros da região. Dessa forma, o trabalho aponta para aspectos estruturantes de uma política pública de educação ambiental, afirmando ser imprescindível a participação dos envolvidos e uma profunda reflexão das condições histórico-econômico-sócioambiental que permeiam as relações sociais e culturais dos pescadores artesanais.
