La lectura como instrumento clave en el aprendizaje escolar

Resumo: The development of this paper, which aims at first hand, to analyze the process of understanding and assimilation of the writing texts by secondary students, emerges not in a vacuum or by chance. Initially, the author was interested in understanding his experience at the secondary school, where some teachers did not explain in a clearer way, the criteria which they used to elucidate what were the central ideas and what the secondary ones were. Another interest was to verify why many secondary students who are going to Universities are able to distinguish among to read a text and understand its central ideas. If this disjunction is conceived as broader manner, the answer probably would be pessimist. This is the case of students of the Alameda de Osuna Institute (Secondary School) in doing exercises about editorials of the diary printing press, according to their teachers. These students think they had understood the essential idea when they just present, with other words, the same issues explicit in the original title of the editorial. It seems to be a bypath or a kind of strategy used by students when they have to face a complex text of an editorial, which probably, the editors spent a whole afternoon working on the text. A realização deste trabalho, destinado a conhecer em primeira mão a compreensão e assimilação de textos escritos por alunos do atual ensino secundário, não é gratuita nem surgiu por acaso. Interessado, inicialmente, seu autor por uma experiência que viveu em seus anos de Instituto, onde alguns professores não explicavam de modo suficientemente claro os critérios que usavam para elucidar quais idéias eram centrais e quais eram as secundárias, sempre lhe ficou essa curiosidade não satisfeita. Outro interesse era averiguar alguma das chaves de uma separação plausível de algo que, às portas de entrar na Universidade, não têm claro muitos estudantes secundários: a distinção entre ler um texto e compreender sua filosofia ou idéias básicas. Se essa disjunção é concebida de uma maneira muito geral, a resposta provavelmente seria pessimista. Este é o caso, segundo comentaram alguns professores do Instituto de Educação Secundária Alameda de Osuna, de alguns alunos seus quando realizam exercícios sobre editoriais da imprensa diária. Acreditam ter entendido a idéia básica de um editorial quando colocam, com outras palavras, o mesmo que explicita o título do editorial. Isto, mais que um trabalho bem executado, se assemelha a um atalho que os alunos encontram quando enfrentam um texto complexo como pode ser um editorial, em cuja colaboração a equipe de redatores do periódico provavelmente esteve ocupada toda uma tarde.
