Resumo: | This study aimed to investigate the knowledge of musical content that constitutes the professional identity of teachers who teach music at school qualified in Visual/Plastic Arts. Based on a theoretical basis about teaching knowledge, it was carried out a qualitative investigation – participant observation – that involved four art teachers. The data was constituted through interviews, questionnaires and observation field notes. On the one hand, the results revealed that the knowledge of musical content that constitutes the teachers’ professional identity is related to the history of music and art, the elements of musical language, practical skills, musical theoretical-practical knowledge and ontological perspectives. On the other hand, the analysis of the empirical material also revealed that teachers have significant limitations, especially with regard to the theoretical mastery of the elements of musical language, when proposing practical teaching and learning activities and when discussing the specific aspects of musical knowledge. Qualified teachers in Visual/Plastic Arts.Este estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar los saberes del contenido musical que constituyen la identidad profesional de los profesores titulados en artes visuales/plásticas, que enseñan música en la escuela. Fundamentados en base teórica sobre los saberes docentes, se realizó una investigación cualitativa – de observación participante – que involucró a cuatro profesores de arte. Los datos fueron constituidos por medio de entrevistas, cuestionarios y notas de campo de observación. Los resultados revelaron que los saberes del contenido musical que constituyen la identidad profesional de los profesores está relacionado con la historia de la música y el arte, los elementos del lenguaje musical, las habilidades prácticas, los saberes teórico-prácticos musicales y las perspectivas ontológicas. Sin embargo, el análisis del material empírico también reveló que los profesores poseen limitaciones significativas, sobre todo, en lo que respecta al dominio teórico de los elementos del lenguaje musical, al proponer actividades prácticas de enseñanza y aprendizaje y al discutir los aspectos propios del conocimiento musical. Profesores habilitados en Artes Visuales/Plásticas.Este estudo teve por objetivo investigar os saberes do conteúdo musical que constituem a identidade profissional de professores habilitados em Artes Visuais/Plásticas que ensinam música na escola. Fundamentados em base teórica sobre os saberes docentes, realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa – de observação participante – que envolveu quatro professores de Arte. Os dados foram constituídos por meio de entrevistas, questionários e notas de campo da observação. Os resultados revelaram que os saberes do conteúdo musical que constituem a identidade profissional dos professores são relacionados à história da música e da arte, aos elementos da linguagem musical, às habilidades práticas, aos saberes teórico-práticos musicais e às perspectivas ontológicas. Em contrapartida, a análise do material empírico também revelou que os professores possuem limitações significativas, sobretudo no que diz respeito ao domínio teórico dos elementos da linguagem musical, ao propor as atividades práticas de ensino e aprendizagem e ao discutir os aspectos próprios do conhecimento musical.
