Resumo: | Journalism contributes daily with records of “immediate history”, and acts as an important place of memory (MADUELL, 2015) in our society, being a source of historical research (ROMANCINI, 2005) in its various forms. Since the 1990s, the language of comics has been used by several authors due to its numerous possibilities for journalistic narrative (SOUZA JÚNIOR, 2010). However, in the field of journalism, it faces some resistance, especially because it is an artistic medium, known as “ninth art”. Based on Joe Sacco's graphic journalism, we propose to discuss about comic's subjectivity, objectivity and credibility as a journalistic genre, as well as about its role in the construction of collective memory. |

Graphic journalism and memory construction: on Joe Sacco and the credibility of the sequential narrativeJornalismo em quadrinhos e construção de memória: sobre Joe Sacco e credibilidade da narrativa sequencial Journalism contributes daily with records of “immediate history”, and acts as an important place of memory (MADUELL, 2015) in our society, being a source of historical research (ROMANCINI, 2005) in its various forms.
