Resumo: In this article, we analyze the journalistic coverage of the Última Hora’s CPI, which took place in 1953, during the second government of Getúlio Vargas (1951-1954). The objective is to observe how journalism, which was consolidating its ideal of presenting itself as an objective, introducing techniques and methods of alleged neutrality, dealt with a troubled policy marked by scandal. The systematizations made here are based on the assumptions of critical analysis of narratives (MOTTA, 2013), taking into account 282 editions, joining the editions of Tribuna da Imprensa and Última Hora newspappers.

O objetivo é observar como o jornalismo, que estava consolidando seu ideal de apresentar-se como objetivo, introduzindo técnicas e métodos de pretensa neutralidade, lidou com uma política conturbada e marcada pelo escândalo.
