Resumo: This work analyzes, from the perspective of Folkcommunication, how the Cultural Manifestation Aruenda da Saudade contributes to Folkturismo and Local Development in the Municipality of Pitimbu - PB. We use qualitative research based on a case study of cultural manifestation. To obtain the data, interviews with semi-structured script, observations and photographic records were used. The research results showed that the Folkturismo strategies used by Aruenda da Saudade, besides promoting tourism, have contributed to the consolidation of the sense of belonging, identification and appreciation of the local culture, income generation for artisans and the consequent promotion of local development. La pesquisa es de naturaleza cualitativa basada en el estudio de caso de la manifestación cultural. Para obtener los datos, se utilizaron entrevistas con guiones semiestructurados, observaciones y registros fotográficos. Los resultados de la investigación mostraron que las estrategias de turismo del folclore utilizadas por Aruenda da Saudade, además de promover el turismo, han contribuido a la consolidación del sentido de pertenencia, identificación y apreciación de la cultura local, y también, la generación de ingresos para los artesanos y la consiguiente promoción del desarrollo local. A pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa com base em estudo de caso da manifestação cultural. Para obtenção dos dados foram utilizadas entrevistas com roteiro semiestruturado, observações e registros fotográficos. Os resultados da pesquisa evidenciaram que as estratégias de Folkturismo utilizadas pela Aruenda da Saudade, além de promover o turismo, têm contribuído para a consolidação do sentimento de pertencimento, identificação e valorização da cultura local, geração de renda para os artesãos e a consequente promoção do desenvolvimento local.
