Resumo: Domestic and family violence against women, with increasing and expressive rates in Brazil in recent years, found reinforcement and new nuances in the face of the new coronavirus pandemic. In addition to the high numbers that, by themselves, demand understanding and construction of differentiated practices and attentive to the particularities of the issue, another problem calls our attention: the high rate of women who abdicateurgent protective measures granted in their favor after having judicialized the violence suffered, often exposing them in repeated cycles of violence. Based on a documentary study carried out in electronic proceedings for urgent protective measures that were processed in the Court of Domestic and Family Violence against Women and annexes of the district of Ponta Grossa/PR in 2020, this article aims to demonstrate in a qualitative and quantitative way the identified motivations for women to give up the injunction that protected them. In view of the crises and problems triggered by COVID-19 - which alsoreverberate and reinforce direct and structural violence against women, the reflection on this issue reveals the challenges to be faced by professionals working in the area, especially with regard to resignification and restructuring of professional practice.
