The use of social networks by members of CONSEMA in promoting the environmental debate

Resumo: The fundamental right to democratic participation can be achieved through participative institutions, as long as there are spaces for citizen intervention in terms of the exercise, conformation and control of political power. The Information and Communication Technologies-ICTs are interactive and can become an important tool for citizen participation, especially on relevant issues, like the environment. This research seeks to analyze the use of digital networks by members of the State Council for the Environment (CONSEMA), in promoting this participation, with an emphasis on the debate based on this collegiate. Through the survey and the analysis of the participatory criteria of those publications made by the members on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, it is concluded that they make limited use of social networks, exploring only their informational character and making few connections with CONSEMA’s performance.

Devido ao seu potencial interativo, as Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação-TICs podem representar uma importante ferramenta de participação cidadã em questões relevantes, como a que envolve o meio ambiente. A presente pesquisa busca analisar o uso das redes sociais digitais por integrantes do Conselho Estadual de Meio  Ambiente-CONSEMA, na promoção dessa participação, com ênfase no debate pautados no próprio colegiado.
