Resumo: O Programa Bolsa Família - PBF define as mulheres como recebedoras preferenciais e responsáveis pelo cumprimento de exigências decorrentes da recepção do benefício. Essa definição parece reforçar o senso comum que trata os cuidados com a família como uma obrigação feminina. Analisando alguns de nossos costumes no âmbito dos cuidados, localizo a noção de invenção das tradições como presente nesta experiência. O presente trabalho buscou analisar o processo de responsabilização das mulheres beneficiárias do PBF no que tange às condicionalidades impostas pelo Programa e a difícil tarefa de conciliação do trabalho doméstico com o trabalho remunerado. O estudo teve como campo de pesquisa uma instituição do terceiro setor em Niterói/RJ. A metodologia utilizada foi a História Oral, e os resultados do estudo indicaram elementos que sugeriram a recorrente ausência do homem no âmbito doméstico e no cumprimento das condicionalidades do PBF e a inexpressiva alteração na divisão sexual das atividades domésticas.  Palavras-chave: Feminização. Programa Bolsa Família.  Abstract: The Bolsa Familia Program - PBF defines women as, preferentially, responsible for receiving the benefit and for compliance with requirements of the program. This concept seems to reinforce the common sense that sets family care as an obligation of women. Analyzing some of our care customs, we locate the notion of invention of traditions at this experience. The present study sought to analyze the process of empowerment of PBF’s women beneficiaries in regard to the conditions imposed by the Program and the difficult task of reconciling the housework with paid work. The study’s field of research was the institution the third sector in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro. The methodology used was the Oral History, and the results of the study indicated elements that suggested the recurrent absence of men in the domestic sphere and in compliance with the PBF’s conditionalities and the deadpan change in the gender division of household activities.  Keywords: Feminization.
